The nearest volcanic lakes are Bolsena and Mezzano, with a zone of great naturalistic-environmental interest, as the natural reserve of Selva del Lamone. |
There are also some protected oases, that have been discovered, associated with some other important finds, as the Francigena Road. The nearest Etruscan Necropolis to the castle is the necropolis of Pianezze. |

The vast network of country tracks, bridleways and public footpaths covering the area, and still used by farmers and shepherds, allow the mountain-biker to cross this land, freely, in any direction. 20,00€ per bike per day. |
At the castle you can rent bicycles and head off alone or ask for a guide and benefit from his expertise of the area. For serious cyclists the historic “Brigands path” is a 120 km trail that links the sea to the Appennine mountains. |
Visit the best Etruscan archeological sites, ruins of the ancient town of Castro and hermit’s caves, carved into the rocks. |
